THE BELIEF OF A NOTION

As we walk along the road of history
Looking behind to see what we may have missed,
Peering ahead to what might be.
Are we really able to see?
Misinterpreting the truth from lies.
Can we believe our own eyes?
Wisdom without a thought,
Believing only hearsay.
Carrying only what we brought
And upholding it with a silver tray.
Ready to defend it tooth and nail,
Never remembering the source.
Have we been walking along the wrong trail?
Somehow could we have been coerced?
MAGICAL TREASURE

Feel the colors of a thousand skies.
Breathe the air of a million lives.
Hold onto a dream or two,
Because so few come true.
Keep a watchful eye on those around you,
Because you never know what they are going to do.
But you can put your mind at ease,
Because most of them mean to please.
Surround yourself with joy and pleasure,
And you have found yourself a magical treasure.
