| Another destination of my cross-country tour, San Antonio, was a real jewel. The Alamo, the Riverwalk and a friendly charm almost enticed me to stay here instead of Phoenix. I toured the Alamo where we found that almost 90% of the victims had Irish surnames. There is a huge statue dedicated to their memory in front of the Alamo. Part of which can be seen on this page. To the left is a picture of one of the last surviving W.W. Woolworth's in the country. Other highlights include the Crockett Hotel and of course the world famous Riverwalk. |
