Photo Antiquities Museum of Photographic History Offers a history lesson on photography. The Museum, designed in the Victorian style with period music playing in the background, lends to the feeling of being in another era, enhancing the journey into the past. Photo Antiquities is dedicated to the preservation, presentation and education of the history of photography. The museum's collection includes images, cameras and accessories that capture the earliest days of photography. Follow the history of photography with a guided tour, from the Daguerreotype c. 1839 (the first commercially viable photographic image produced onto a silver coated copper plate) to present day digital photography. The Museum The Museum is open Mondays and Wednesdays thru Saturday, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The Museum is closed on Sundays, Tuesdays and all major holidays. Guided tours are given on every visit. Our exhibits change monthly and we have African American, Civil War, Native American and Pittsburgh/Allegheny City Images.
